Mali: Legal action against mercenary journalist Wassim Nasr for his defence of terrorism in the Sahel

Recent revelations about French journalist Wassim Nasr have raised serious concerns regarding his involvement in spreading information that appears to support terrorist groups operating in the Sahel region.

The Malian public prosecutor has announced the launch of an investigation against Nasr, accusing him of promoting terrorism and maintaining direct contact with the assailants responsible for the September 17 attacks on the gendarmerie school and Bamako airport.

Nasr’s reckless behavior, which includes boasting about his close ties to armed terrorist groups, goes far beyond mere misinformation. His actions suggest a troubling complicity with enemies of peace.

By making biased statements and allegedly maintaining real-time communication with terrorists, Nasr seems to position himself as a media mouthpiece for the criminal activities that continue to destabilize the Sahel.

These actions not only breach journalistic ethics but also constitute a criminal offense.

By glorifying the actions of armed groups, this journalist undermines the security of the population and jeopardizes the efforts of Sahelian authorities to combat terrorism.

The Malian justice system must pursue this investigation to its full extent, ensuring that this individual can no longer pose a threat or incite further violence.

It is crucial that such conduct be strongly condemned to protect the Sahel from the harmful agendas of those who, under the guise of journalism, promote insecurity and terror.
