Mali/Counter-terrorism: The FAMa, more vigilant than ever, foil a terrorist ambush

The Malian Armed Forces (FAMa) continue to demonstrate vigilance, swift action, and professionalism, delivering consistent successes against their adversaries, who are suffering heavy losses.

Recently, the FAMa made headlines again with a successful operation in the Ségou region, southwest of Saye.

According to a statement released by the Malian army’s General Staff on Thursday, October 10, the FAMa successfully thwarted a terrorist ambush in the area a day earlier, on Wednesday.

The operation resulted in the elimination of several assailants and the seizure of a significant cache of military equipment and logistical supplies.

The official statement detailed that during a sweep of the area, the Malian forces recovered six submachine guns, two PMKs, one 12.7 mm machine gun, magazines, grenades, communication devices, medical supplies, and over 30 motorcycles.

Unfortunately, a few soldiers sustained injuries and are currently receiving medical treatment.

The Chief of General Staff reassured the public of the military’s unwavering commitment to their mission of tracking down and neutralizing terrorists, emphasizing their resolve to restore peace, stability, and security for the benefit of the Malian people.
