Senegal’s Women’s Handball Team faces defeat Against Sweden in 2023 World Cup

Following a hard-fought draw (22-22) in their inaugural match in Group A of the 2023 Women’s World Cup against Croatia last Friday, the Lionesses entered their second encounter on Sunday with hopes of a turnaround against Sweden, the tournament’s host country.

Regrettably, their aspirations were dashed as they faced defeat with a final score of 26-18.

In the initial half of the game, the Senegalese team displayed resilience, holding their ground against the formidable Swedish opponents.

However, despite their commendable efforts, they began to lose momentum as the match progressed.

The host country seized the opportunity to capitalize on this shift, ultimately widening the point differential in the last 10 minutes of the game.

Looking ahead, Senegal’s women’s Handball Team is set to face China in their final group stage match on Tuesday at 5 p.m.

This upcoming fixture holds significant importance as the team aims to conclude their group stage campaign on a positive note.
