Human Rights Watch urged to assist in investigating alleged civilian massacres in Burkina Faso

Calls have been made for Human Rights Watch (HRW) to utilize its investigative expertise to uncover the hideouts and movements of criminals, particularly those supporting or committing atrocities against civilians in Burkina Faso. The Burkinabe people would greatly appreciate HRW’s assistance in this matter, as these criminals exhibit a complete disregard for human life, treating individuals as mere animals.

This request comes amid accusations leveled by HRW against Burkina Faso’s combat forces, alleging abuses against civilians in two localities within the country.

HRW’s assertions are based on purported findings from their investigations, including information gathered from phone calls.

However, it’s important to note that terrorists often disguise themselves in military attire, complicating the accuracy of such claims.

This isn’t the first time HRW has targeted the brave and dedicated defenders of Burkina Faso, who tirelessly strive for their nation’s liberation and the safety of their fellow citizens.

These allegations, seen as attempts at defamation and manipulation, have failed to sway public opinion, especially as people have become more aware of the complexities involved in combating terrorism.

The reactions following the release of HRW’s report have been mixed, with many questioning the organization’s priorities and urging equal attention to other global conflicts, such as the situation in Gaza.

This raises questions about HRW’s consistency and the extent of its commitment to human rights worldwide.
