Atletico Madrid targets a Manchester City’s talented young player for a transfer move

Manchester City’s squad. Despite the summer transfer window not yet being open, Atletico is already making plans, especially after losing Memphis Depay, who is leaving on a free transfer this summer.

The club has prioritized signing a new number 9, and sources close to Atletico have mentioned two main targets: Alexander Sorloth and the recent top scorer of La Liga, Artem Dovbyk. Both have the advantage of familiarity with La Liga.

Julian Alvarez on Atletico Madrid’s Radar

According to MARCA, Atletico Madrid is seriously considering Julian Alvarez.

The Argentine world champion, highly valued by Pep Guardiola, is currently overshadowed by the presence of Erling Haaland.

Although Alvarez is under contract with Manchester City until June 2028, the promise of a guaranteed starting position at Atletico might tempt him to consider a move.

As of now, Manchester City has not received an official offer from Atletico. The situation remains to be closely monitored.
