Football/ UEFA Nations League: Dani Olmo leaves Spain’s squad after knee issue

Barcelona — Spanish midfielder Dani Olmo has been forced to leave the national team camp after experiencing discomfort in his right knee during Spain’s opening match.

The FC Barcelona playmaker has returned to the Catalan capital to recover under the supervision of his club’s medical team.

Although there is no serious injury, Spain’s medical staff deemed it wise to take no risks.

As a result, Olmo will not participate in the upcoming Euro 2024 qualifying match against Switzerland.

Precaution ahead of La Liga return

Sources close to the player indicate that he is expected to be fit for Barcelona’s next La Liga match against Girona next weekend. The decision to rest the playmaker is seen as a precaution to ensure his full recovery.
