Football/ PL: Guardiola’s future at Manchester City linked to Jamal Musiala signing

Pep Guardiola’s future at Manchester City could depend on the club securing Bayern Munich’s rising star Jamal Musiala, according to recent reports.

The Catalan manager, whose contract expires at the end of the season, is reportedly pushing for a major signing to strengthen City’s squad if he is to consider extending his stay.

Musiala, 20, has impressed this season with three goals and two assists in seven appearances across all competitions.

Guardiola sees the young German as a key addition to help maintain City’s competitive edge in the Premier League and Europe.

City have started the season well, currently second in the league with five wins and two draws.

However, off-field challenges persist, including an independent hearing over the club’s 115 alleged financial breaches.

Additionally, injuries and uncertainties around key players, including Rodri’s season-ending injury, have put pressure on Guardiola’s future plans.

While reports suggest City are confident of convincing Guardiola to remain, the manager has made it clear that securing top talent, particularly Musiala, could be crucial to his decision.

City’s pursuit of Musiala is seen as a pivotal move to not only bolster the squad but also ensure the club retains one of football’s most successful managers for the long term.
