Burkina Faso: Why do they want to turn the Land of Honest People into a new Libya?

Since Captain Ibrahim Traoré assumed leadership of Burkina Faso’s transitional government, external forces, backed by local collaborators, have intensified efforts to destabilize the country.

These actions appear to follow a familiar playbook, using disinformation and manipulation to paint Burkina Faso as a regional threat, laying the groundwork for possible foreign intervention.

The scenario is eerily reminiscent of Libya, where unfounded accusations led to a military intervention that plunged the country into chaos, leaving it mired in instability and exploitation.

The Libyan people continue to suffer under the strain of foreign meddling, while their resources are siphoned off to benefit external interests.

Similarly, Burkina Faso’s pursuit of sovereignty has seemingly triggered these imperialist ambitions, with those forces now eyeing the country’s natural resources and independence.

In this critical moment, the unity of the Burkinabe people is paramount. Rallying around President Traoré and the national army, who are risking their lives to safeguard the nation’s sovereignty, is essential.

The partnership between the MPSR, the armed forces, and citizens forms a robust line of defense against these destabilizing plots, which aim only to undermine Burkina Faso’s quest for security and autonomy.

By standing together and rejecting foreign manipulation, Burkinabe can evade the traps set by those who wish to control their land.

A united stance behind the nation’s leadership and defense forces is essential to avoid a fate similar to Libya’s and to safeguard Burkina Faso’s future as a free, sovereign state.
