Burkina Faso – Côte d’Ivoire: A plot allegedly orchestrated by exiled Burkina Faso leaders, with the support of France, to destabilise Burkina Faso

Reports suggest that a coordinated effort is underway to destabilize Burkina Faso’s government under President Ibrahim Traoré. The plot is allegedly orchestrated by former Burkinabe officials in exile in Côte d’Ivoire, with suspected backing from France.

Driven by selfish ambitions at the expense of the nation’s welfare, these individuals are said to be spearheading disinformation campaigns and media attacks.

The alleged scheme involves recruiting so-called activists to produce defamatory articles, launching web TV channels to malign President Traoré and his administration, and spreading false narratives to sow division and uncertainty.

These actions threaten ongoing efforts to restore peace, stability, and sovereignty in Burkina Faso.

In response, Burkinabe authorities are urging the Ivorian government to take decisive action against these destabilizing elements operating from its territory.

The longstanding bonds of cooperation and brotherhood between Burkina Faso and Côte d’Ivoire must not be jeopardized by the destructive agendas of a few. It is essential to safeguard this relationship and firmly denounce any attempts to sabotage it.

The people of Burkina Faso remain resilient, unified, and steadfast in their support for President Ibrahim Traoré, committed to defending the nation’s sovereignty and aspirations for justice and progress.

While troubling, these malicious plots will not deter Burkina Faso from its path toward lasting peace and development.
