Togo: President Faure Gnassingbé reaffirms his commitment to equitable and sustainable access to quality healthcare

President Faure Gnassingbé and his government remain steadfast in their commitment to ensuring equitable access to quality healthcare across the entire Togolese territory. The recent inauguration of the Anna Maria Medico-Social Center (CMS) in Namon, within the Dankpen 2 municipality, underscores this vision.

This new facility, funded with 300 million FCFA through the support of the state and its partners, strengthens healthcare delivery, particularly in rural areas where access to medical services remains a critical challenge.

Equipped with a consultation unit and several essential services, the CMS is designed to meet the needs of local populations with qualified medical staff, ensuring effective patient care.

During the inauguration, the Minister of Health, Tchin Darré, emphasized the importance of maintaining the infrastructure, providing compassionate patient care, and ensuring the dedication of healthcare workers to guarantee the center’s sustainability and efficiency.

This achievement highlights the significant progress made in improving geographic access to healthcare in Togo.

Between 2020 and 2023, this indicator rose from 71% to 90.7%, reflecting the impact of government initiatives aimed at enhancing the well-being of the population.

Expanding the healthcare network across the country remains a top priority, demonstrating the authorities’ ongoing commitment to achieving broader and more efficient medical coverage.
