In a thrilling encounter, Real Madrid turned the tables on Manchester City with a 3-2 victory in the first leg of their Champions League knockout tie. City seemed to be in control after Haaland’s penalty, but the match dramatically shifted in the final minutes.

Despite hitting the woodwork twice—first with Vinicius and then with Aké—City’s luck ran out when Brahim Diaz equalized.

Defensive mistakes from Ederson, Kovacic, and Lewis allowed Jude Bellingham to score the decisive goal, handing Real Madrid a vital win.

Carlo Ancelotti’s side showed excellent ball control, particularly in the second half, reversing a situation that had initially seemed unfavorable.

Pep Guardiola

Pep Guardiola, devastated by the defeat, admitted after the match that he was struggling to find solutions to his team’s recurring issues.

Nevertheless, Real Madrid is now in a strong position ahead of the second leg. Their collective performance and resilience highlight a team determined to secure qualification.
