Real Madrid/ Spanish Court upholds investigation against Footballer Raúl Asencio in underage Sex video scandal

A Spanish court has rejected an appeal by Raúl Asencio’s defense team, allowing an investigation into the footballer’s alleged involvement in the distribution of a sexual video featuring a 16-year-old girl to proceed.

The case, which has drawn significant media attention in Spain, involves Asencio and three other former teammates, Ferrán Ruiz, Juan Rodríguez, and Andrés García, none of whom currently play for the club.

The scandal came to light in September 2023 when the minor’s mother filed a complaint, claiming the sexual acts were recorded without the girls’ knowledge and later shared through private messaging groups.

Asencio, accused solely of distributing the video, had sought to have the charges dropped, but the provincial court of Las Palmas denied his request, keeping him under investigation.

Under Spanish law, the offense carries a potential prison sentence of up to five years.

The other players face allegations of uncovering and disclosing private information, as well as involvement in child pornography.

The case has sparked widespread outrage and continues to be a focal point in Spanish media. Judicial authorities are conducting a thorough investigation, with the scandal raising serious questions about accountability and the exploitation of minors.

As the legal process unfolds, the case remains a stark reminder of the consequences of privacy violations and the misuse of digital platforms.

The footballers’ careers hang in the balance as public scrutiny intensifies, underscoring the gravity of the allegations and the ongoing fight for justice.
