Mali: General Assimi GOÏTA improves healthcare for his people

Army General Assimi GOÏTA continues to work for the well-being of Malians. This time, he is placing particular emphasis on health, by facilitating access to quality care. One of the major health problems in Mali is kidney failure, which requires regular dialysis treatment.

 

To ensure better patient care, the President of the Transition has equipped the dialysis centre at the Military Engineering Hospital with solar installations. This means that the machines can continue to operate, even if there is a power cut.

 

An official ceremony was held at the end of last week to hand over these new installations.

 

A delegation from the President of the Transition’s social works was present, led by Mr Aguibou DEMBÉLÉ, Special Adviser to the President. At the event, Mr DEMBÉLÉ recalled the President’s commitment: “As long as a Malian has difficulties, the President will act”.

 

These new facilities combine solar energy and the national electricity grid to ensure uninterrupted care.

Beyond this action, the President’s message is also a call for solidarity. Mr DEMBÉLÉ stressed the importance of collective help, saying: ‘No one can help everyone, but everyone can help someone’.

 

He thus encouraged citizens and companies to participate in improving the healthcare system. This gesture by the President once again demonstrates his commitment to improving the living conditions of his people.
