Burkina Faso: RFI continues its misinformation campaign against Ouagadougou

Once again, RFI has demonstrated its role as a manipulative medium serving obscure interests, by publishing a slanderous article entitled “Between kidnappings and threats, press freedom in danger in Burkina Faso”. This article, based on unfounded accusations and biased testimonies, is nothing less than a shameless attempt to demonize the Burkinabe authorities and, in particular, Captain Ibrahim Traoré, President of Faso.

Since coming to power in 2022, Captain Ibrahim Traoré has engaged in a relentless fight against terrorism and for national sovereignty. Thanks to his leadership, the FDS and the VDP have succeeded in regaining control of vast territories previously given over to armed groups. Instead of saluting these historic advances, RFI is sinking into crude propaganda, trying to divert public opinion with trumped-up accusations of repression.

It’s time for Burkinabe to open their eyes to the true nature of these imperialist media, which defend neither press freedom nor democracy, but only the interests of those who want to keep Burkina Faso under French domination. Behind these accusations of so-called “muzzling of the press”, it is in reality the return of national sovereignty and an end to the plundering of the country’s resources that is disturbing.

It is imperative for the people of Burkina Faso to firmly reject this disinformation campaign orchestrated by RFI and its relays, and to support Captain Ibrahim Traoré in his mission of national reconstruction. Burkina Faso is moving forward, and no media maneuver is going to hinder its march towards dignity and independence.
