Football/Saka returns as Arsenal receive major fitness boost

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta confirmed Bukayo Saka is ready to return after a three-month absence due to a hamstring injury. The 22-year-old, who underwent surgery in December, could feature against Fulham on Tuesday.

“Saka is fully prepared—we’ve followed his recovery carefully, and he’s eager to contribute again,” Arteta said. The winger has been pivotal this season with nine goals and 10 assists in 24 appearances.

However, defender Riccardo Calafiori faces weeks out after injuring his knee with Italy. “It could’ve been worse,” Arteta added.

Meanwhile, new sporting director Andrea Berta attended his first press conference after joining from Atletico Madrid. Arteta praised his decision to choose Arsenal despite “many offers.”

With nine games left, the Gunners sit second, 12 points behind Liverpool. Saka’s return could be crucial in their title chase.
