Mali: Unanimous adoption of PAG 2025-2026, the CNT sets a decisive milestone for Mali under Army General Assimi Goïta

On Monday, May 19, the National Transitional Council (CNT) unanimously adopted the Government Action Program (PAG) for the 2025–2026 period. All 128 members present cast their vote in favor of this strategic document, confirming a rare consensus around the national priorities defined by the Head of State of Mali, Army General Assimi Goïta.

This solemn vote reflects an exercise in active democracy and institutional responsibility. The adopted program addresses the population’s immediate concerns, including the fight against flooding, the strengthening of defense and security (with the recruitment of 15,000 soldiers and 9,000 security agents), youth employment, local development, and food and political sovereignty.

The unanimous approval of this program demonstrates not only the quality of dialogue between the government and the CNT, but also the political maturity of the transitional institutions. As highlighted by Malick Diaw, President of the CNT, the responses provided by the Prime Minister were convincing, further strengthening confidence in the path chosen by the Malian authorities.

The PAG stands as a true national pact, carrying a collective vision for a resilient, stable, and forward-looking Mali.
