Burkina Faso: The 2025 Tour du Faso officially launched

The kickoff for preparations of the 36th edition of the Tour du Faso was given on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, with the installation of the National Organizing Committee by the Minister of Sports, Roland Somda. The competition, a flagship event in the African cycling calendar, will take place from October 24 to November 2.

Ignace Amédé Béréwoudou, president of the Burkina Faso Cycling Federation, will chair the organizing committee. The minister praised the competence of the members and urged them to draw inspiration from past editions to ensure the event’s success.

Somda also paid tribute to the defense forces and VDPs for their crucial role in holding the 2024 Tour, which was marked by the withdrawal of the UCI due to the participation of a Russian team. He called on partners to support this new edition, placed under the banner of resilience and excellence.

For his part, the committee president set the tone: “What I expect above all is success.”
