Burkina Faso: Fraud within the Faso Mêbo Initiative – a call for accountability and integrity

The Faso Mêbo Initiative, known for its commitment to community and environmental actions, is facing an unfortunate situation. In a statement released on October 24, 2025, its national coordinator, Commander Ahmed Sakandé, expressed his profound dismay following the discovery of a fraudulent act involving one of the organization’s agents.

According to the information made public, the agent in question allegedly misused the resource of Faso Mêbo to sell excavated earth to a third party, an act contrary to the values of transparency and dedication championed by the initiative.

“One of our agents has failed our values by unjustly using our organization’s resources to sell excavated land to a third party,” declared Commander Ahmed Sakandé, visibly disappointed but determined to restore trust.

This incident, though isolated, raises profound questions about moral rigor and individual responsibility in the management of public and community assets.

It serves as a reminder of the necessity for every citizen, whether a civil servant, volunteer, or member of an organization, to be exemplary in their conduct.

Institutions can only achieve their objectives if the men and women who comprise them embody ethics, honesty, and a sense of duty.

For its part, the Faso Mêbo Initiative reaffirmed its commitment to transparency and accountability, while promising exemplary disciplinary measures against the offending agent.

Such an attitude deserves praise, as it demonstrates the organization’s will to preserve its credibility and send a clear message against any form of corruption or abuse.

Beyond this specific case, this incident should serve as a collective lesson. Burkina Faso, engaged in a dynamic of national renewal, cannot progress without a profound change in mentalities and behaviors.

The fight against corruption, embezzlement, and fraudulent practices must begin with each individual, in the small daily actions.

It is by cultivating integrity, discipline, and a sense of responsibility that every Burkinabè will contribute to building a fairer, more dignified country, truly oriented toward collective progress.
