Togo: Faure Gnassingbé begins official Russia visit to deepen bilateral ties

President Faure Gnassingbé began an official visit to Russia on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, following a personal invitation from his counterpart Vladimir Putin. The trip underscores the Togo’s diplomatic strategy of Togo to strengthen international partnerships, particularly around African security and development priorities.

The leaders are scheduled to hold summit talks on Wednesday at the Kremlin, where they will explore avenues to enhance cooperation across multiple key sectors.
