Equatorial Guinea’s Vice President makes first African leader visit to Cameroon post-election

Yaoundé – In a significant diplomatic gesture, His Excellency Nguema Obiang Mangue, Vice President of Equatorial Guinea, conducted a working visit to Yaoundé on Tuesday, November 18, becoming the first African leader to personally congratulate President Paul Biya following his re-election in October.

The 24-hour visit, which continued on Wednesday with an audience granted by President Biya, underscores the strong bilateral ties and mutual respect between the two neighboring countries.

The Vice President conveyed fraternal greetings from President Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, extended his personal congratulations, and engaged in substantive discussions on bilateral cooperation.

The talks focused on enhancing collaboration across multiple sectors, reflecting a shared commitment to deepening existing partnerships.

This high-level engagement highlights the importance of direct dialogue among African leaders and strengthens South-South cooperation as a pillar of regional stability and economic development.
