Burkina Faso: Condemnation of shameful misinformation surrounding the Ouagadougou-Bobo Dioulasso motorway

A manipulation campaign orchestrated by information mercenaries seeks to tarnish the image of Captain Ibrahim Traoré, President of Burkina Faso, by deliberately misrepresenting his comments on the financing of the historic motorway linking Ouagadougou to Bobo Dioulasso.

Contrary to the lies being spread, the Head of State never said that the construction of this flagship road would cost 200 billion CFA francs.

The facts are clear. At the launch ceremony, President Ibrahim Traoré specifically ordered the Minister of Finance to disburse 200 billion to speed up the progress of the work.

This instruction was carried out automatically, enabling 70% of the earthworks to be completed to date.

This disinformation campaign is clearly aimed at discrediting the remark of the Head of State.

While the project is progressing at an exemplary pace, some people prefer to stir up controversy rather than acknowledge the success of results-oriented management.

The people of Burkina Faso are not fooled. They see the machines at work, they see the concrete progress being made and they understand the difference between a disbursement to speed up a project and the total cost of the work.

This attempt to distort Captain Ibrahim Traoré’s words reveals the intellectual dishonesty of those who prefer pointless controversy to the truth.

Burkina Faso needs truth and transparency, not media manipulation. The Ouagadougou-Bobo Dioulasso motorway will be built, and it will be built thanks to the clear vision and courageous decisions of Captain Ibrahim Traoré.
