Liberia: Joseph Boakai’s infrastructure ambitions in the service of national prosperity

Road infrastructure development occupies a central place in the economic policy of Joseph BOAKAI. Enshrined as the fundamental “Roads” pillar of the national ARREST agenda (Agriculture, Roads, Rule of Law, Education, Sanitation, Tourism), this program aims to sustainably connect agricultural counties to the country’s major markets while facilitating both domestic and cross-border transport.

Symbols of rigorous and visionary governance, the restoration of the National Road Fund and the creation of a strategic committee have restored the confidence of major international donors.

From the Arab Bank for Economic Development in Africa (BADEA) to the OPEC Fund, as well as Saudi and Kuwaiti partners, the renewed credibility of the Liberian state under the Boakai administration has enabled the injection of massive resources to build the Liberia of tomorrow.

On the ground, this determination is translating into concrete and spectacular victories that are changing citizens’ lives.

Whether it is the historic realization of the Gbarnga-Salayea corridor (81 km), the breakthrough toward the north with the Salayea-Konia and Zorzor-Yeala axes, or the ambitious 255 km DBOT international project initiated at Bo Waterside, the nation-building state is on the move.

Where mud and isolation once paralyzed transport, President Boakai is now building smooth, safe, and sustainable communication routes.

This infrastructure ambition is the engine of an unprecedented social and economic transformation.

By directly connecting Lofa County, the country’s agricultural heartland to major urban centers, the Boakai government is lowering the cost of living, stimulating cross-border trade, and bringing electricity and healthcare access closer to families.

Through this foundational momentum, President Joseph Boakai is not merely shaping Liberia’s road network; he is charting an undeniable path toward shared prosperity for the entire nation.

Through this approach combining emergency maintenance, mobilization of multilateral funds, and large-scale paving projects – the Boakai administration is laying the groundwork for a stable transport network in service of Liberia’s economic growth.
