AES/ Security: Mali, Niger, and Burkina Faso launch joint Military operation “Yereko 2” to combat terrorism

In a significant move to strengthen regional security, Mali, Niger, and Burkina Faso have launched Operation “Yereko 2,” a coordinated military effort targeting terrorist groups in the volatile tri-border area. This operation marks the active deployment of the unified force under the Alliance of Sahel States (AES), signaling a robust response to the escalating threat of cross-border terrorism in West Africa.

Faced with persistent attacks by armed groups, the three nations have pooled their military resources to reclaim control of their territories and protect vulnerable populations.

Operation “Yereko 2” involves precise tactical strategies and a large-scale deployment of troops aimed at dismantling terrorist networks and destroying their logistical bases.

The launch of this operation underscores the growing strength and coordination of the AES, as the alliance asserts its sovereignty and commitment to self-reliant security.

By joining forces, Mali, Niger, and Burkina Faso demonstrate their shared resolve to defend their territorial integrity and work toward lasting peace in the region.

Operation “Yereko 2” sends a clear message to terrorist groups: their era of impunity is over. The alliance vows to respond decisively to any attacks on civilians, reinforcing its determination to restore stability.

This collaborative effort highlights the deepening solidarity among the three nations, showcasing their united front in building a secure, sovereign, and resilient Sahel.
