Burkina Faso / Financial support for Burkina Faso nationals from the Boulgou province in the Republic of Côte d’Ivoire in the fight against terrorism: Solidarity with the government of President Ibrahim Traoré

Solidarity and commitment to peace have taken on a new dimension with the presentation of a significant financial contribution by Burkina Faso nationals from the Boulgou province in the Republic of Côte d’Ivoire to the government of President Ibrahim Traoré in its relentless fight against terrorism.

Her Excellency Mrs Olivia Ragnaghnèwendé ROUAMBA, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Regional Cooperation and the Burkinabe Abroad, received from Mr Marcel ZINSONNI, Secretary General of the Union of Nationals of the Boulgou Province in the Republic of Côte d’Ivoire, a financial contribution of one million five hundred thousand CFA francs (1,500,000) in support of the government’s peace efforts.

The Secretary General of the Union expressed his deep respect for the Transitional authorities, the Defence and Security Forces, and the volunteers who are working on the ground to reconquer the national territory.

He emphasised that this donation reflects the unwavering attachment of Boulgou nationals to their homeland and their commitment to working alongside the government to protect the population on a daily basis.

Mr ZINSONNI also wished the authorities and people of Burkina Faso victory over the enemy, expressing the hope that peace would soon return to the country.

In response to this generous gesture, the Minister of Foreign Affairs expressed her gratitude to the compatriots of Boulgou for their spirit of solidarity with their homeland.

 On behalf of the President of the Transition, H.E. Captain Ibrahim TRAORE, the Minister welcomed this show of love for the country.

She emphasised that this gesture was perfectly in keeping with the Stabilisation and Development Action Plan, particularly its fourth pillar, which promotes social cohesion and national reconciliation.
