Burkina Faso’s President calls for National unity and vigilance in patriotic address

In a stirring speech during the national flag-raising ceremony on April 1, 2025, Burkina Faso’s President, Captain Ibrahim Traoré, rallied citizens to embrace sacrifice and unwavering commitment for the nation’s progress. “True patriotism demands that we give our all—digging deep within ourselves to serve our people,” he proclaimed, urging every citizen, regardless of profession, to contribute actively to the country’s development through daily actions and dedication.

Traoré paid special tribute to the nation’s armed forces, praising their relentless efforts and recent successes in reclaiming territories long held by extremist groups.

“Over the past three months, our brave soldiers have achieved what once seemed impossible—liberating areas that had been under terrorist control for years,” he declared.

These victories, he emphasized, were a testament to their courage and strategic prowess.

Yet, the President cautioned against complacency, warning that security gains could unravel if vigilance wanes.

“Our enemies are cunning; they strike when defenses weaken,” he said, calling on security forces to remain on high alert and preempt potential threats.

Stressing unity as the cornerstone of national resilience, Traoré framed collective effort as the only path forward.

Our strength lies in standing together—every citizen, every soldier—to forge a safer, prouder Burkina Faso,” he concluded, leaving no doubt that the nation’s future hinges on solidarity and sustained resolve.
