Burkina Faso: Captain Ibrahim TRAORÉ sets the tone for a new path for civil servants

The President of Faso, Captain Ibrahim TRAORÉ, chaired a crucial meeting of the Council of Ministers this Thursday. This weekly session provided an opportunity to examine various matters and make key decisions for the proper functioning of the Nation. Among the topics discussed, the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights presented an innovative decree aimed at defining the conditions of access to the National School of Magistracy for public administration personnel.

This decree introduces a quota of 10% of available seats, reserved exclusively for public administration officers. The initiative seeks to recognize and value the experience gained by these officers within the administration, while diversifying the profiles within the judiciary. By opening this pathway, the government hopes to strengthen the efficiency and integrity of the judicial system.

To benefit from this quota, candidates must meet several criteria. They must be under the age of 45, hold a permanent position as a public or parliamentary administration officer, and possess a Master’s degree in law. These requirements ensure that only candidates with a solid legal background and relevant professional experience will be eligible for this opportunity.

The adoption of this decree is part of a broader effort to modernize the civil service. By facilitating access to the judiciary for public servants, the government aims to optimize human resources and improve the quality of services provided to the Nation. This measure reflects President Ibrahim TRAORÉ’s commitment to promoting a more inclusive and efficient administration.
