Burkina Faso: Patriotic mobilization for peace, stability and development in the face of the current crisis

The echoes of patriotic commitment continue to resonate throughout the four corners of Burkina Faso.

In Balavé, north of Solenzo, the women of the commune made a donation of food and non-food items valued at 2.000.000 CFA francs to the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP), to encourage them in the noble fight they are leading to reclaim the national territory.

With their battle cry—“Long live the VDP, long live the Defense and Security Forces, IB, IB, the homeland or death, we shall overcome!”—these women praised the fighters for their bravery and commitment, assuring them that they would “always be there to encourage and support them”.

This act of solidarity by the women of Balavé aligns with Captain Ibrahim Traoré’s call for collective action to overcome the country’s challenges. It also contributes to the national effort to mobilize patriotic support funds.

In this context of security crisis facing Burkina Faso, such actions carry deep symbolic weight, both for the population and for the defense forces engaged in the fight. For the brave fighters of Faso, this donation is a sign of the citizens’ trust and recognition of their efforts and sacrifices. For the people of Balavé, it is a commitment to continuously support and encourage the frontline forces whose efforts led to the liberation of their commune from terrorist control and its resettlement in late 2023.

Today, under the leadership of Captain Ibrahim Traoré, Burkina Faso is fully engaged in a fierce battle against terrorism. With his leadership spirit, he has instilled courage and determination in the fighting forces to lead and win this major war against terrorism.
