Niger armed forces dismantle criminal network in Agadez

The Nigerien Armed Forces, under the leadership of General Abdourahamane Tiani’s government, continue their determined and professional efforts to secure the nation, protect citizens, and safeguard property. In line with this mission, the Central Service for counterterrorism and Transnational Organized Crime has successfully dismantled a criminal network operating in Agadez.

The security operation led to the arrest of nine criminals, including the gang leader, Abba Abayé Argi, alias R-Boss.

This individual and his accomplices were responsible for violent crimes along Agadez’s roadways and within the city itself.

Their neutralization brings much-needed relief to local residents.

The arrests demonstrate Niger’s unwavering commitment to combating insecurity and all forms of criminal activity—a priority reinforced by President Tiani’s security policies since taking office.

Authorities also seized significant evidence during the operation, including firearms, narcotics, and stolen vehicles recovered from victims.

This crackdown marks another step in Niger’s broader strategy to restore stability and uphold the rule of law.
