Burkina-Faso: “Faso Mêbo”, the presidential initiative that embodies national resilience

“Faso Mêbo”, an initiative launched by the Head of State, Captain Ibrahim Traoré, and aimed at urban development and beautification in Burkina Faso, is steadily progressing—paving the way, brick by brick. In a symbolic gesture of solidarity, members of the government, led by Prime Minister Rimtalba Jean Emmanuel Ouédraogo, donated 150 tons of cement to the Coordination of the Presidential Initiative Faso Mêbo. This contribution, worth 15 million CFA francs, is part of the broader urban renewal effort spearheaded by Captain Ibrahim Traoré.

Beyond the donation itself, the ministers’ presence at the paving stone production site at Lycée Philippe-Zinda-Kaboré sends a strong message: a government that is engaged, active, and close to the people. Government officials even joined the workers in shaping and laying the paving stones for the development of Avenue du Burkina. This symbolic act embodies the spirit of Faso Mêbo—an initiative built on the mobilization of local energy and talent to tackle the country’s structural challenges.

“It is through our own efforts and ingenuity that we will overcome the challenges facing Burkina Faso”, the Prime Minister firmly declared. This message, both political and patriotic, reaffirms Captain Ibrahim Traoré’s vision of building a resilient Burkina Faso by relying on local resources and national solidarity.

This government support serves as an additional lever to keep the momentum going. “Faso Mêbo” is proving to be more than just an infrastructure project—it is a statement of belief in the ability of the Burkinabe people to shape their own future with dignity and determination.
