Burkina-Faso: “Faso Mêbo”, a Burkinabe model of solidarity reconstruction under the leadership of Captain Traoré

Through the “Faso Mêbo” initiative, Burkina Faso is entering a new era of reconstruction based on civic engagement, local mobilization, and the political vision of the Head of State, Captain Ibrahim Traoré. Far from traditional externally driven development models, the “Faso Mêbo” initiative embodies an endogenous, pragmatic, and deeply patriotic approach, in line with President Traoré’s vision.

Since its launch, this presidential program has been transforming the urban landscape of Ouagadougou: paving of streets, improved sanitation, housing construction, and soon, the development of the Burkindi Business Center—a symbol of modernity driven by the Burkinabe people themselves. Under the coordination of Commander Ahmed Zoodnoma Sakandé, the project is built on a unique community-based model: volunteers, material donations, and the absence of private-sector tenders.

“Faso Mêbo” thus illustrates Captain Traoré’s determination to make the people the primary agents of their own development. In a context of national resilience, this participatory infrastructure policy has become a tool for unity, hope, and tangible sovereignty.
