Burkina Faso: Construction of the “Burkindi Business Center”, the ‘Faso Mêbo’ Presidential Initiative underway

In a landmark step toward modernizing Burkina Faso, President Ibrahim Traoré and his government have launched the “Faso Mêbo” initiative, aimed at reshaping urban landscapes, promoting green spaces, and improving living standards nationwide.

Two weeks after its adoption by the Council of Ministers, the initiative is already showing concrete action with the groundbreaking of the Burkindi Business Center, an ambitious project set to transform the skyline of Ouagadougou.

Building for the Future: The Burkindi business center

Announced through a foundation-laying ceremony, the Burkindi Business Center will be an ultra-modern real estate complex located in the Ouaga 2000 district of the capital.

Spearheaded by Construction Minister Mikailou Sidibé, the project includes a towering 35-story building, 14 additional high-rises each with 15 floors, and a three-level shopping center.

Expected to cost 320 billion FCFA, this cutting-edge complex will be developed through a public-private partnership, with an anticipated completion timeline of four years.

A New vision for urban development in Burkina Faso

The Faso Mêbo initiative, a brainchild of President Traoré and his administration, reflects a strong commitment to creating a livable, attractive, and sustainable urban environment.

Plans under this initiative include not only modern housing and commercial spaces but also sanitation improvements and expanded public green spaces.

The Burkindi Business Center, a first of its kind in the region, embodies this forward-looking vision, merging local needs with global standards in urban design.

This ambitious push for urban renewal is widely seen as a demonstration of the government’s dedication to harmonious development and a step toward positioning Burkina Faso as a model for modern urbanism in West Africa.

As the initiative unfolds, it promises to enhance quality of life while honoring the country’s unique sociocultural identity.
