Burkina Faso: When imperialist media outlets (RFI, France 24, etc.) mourn the loss of their right to manipulate with impunity

Here we go again with the lamentations about an alleged attack on press freedom in Burkina Faso. As if RFI, France 24, and company had ever been anything other than mouthpieces for disinformation serving neocolonial interests. Today, these imperialist media outlets are crying because they can no longer freely tarnish the image of the land of the upright people.

Captain Ibrahim Traoré, President of Faso, has made firm decisions to protect his people against the disinformation that constantly thrives on the airwaves of these media outlets.

And he is absolutely right. Freedom of expression has never meant the right to lie, manipulate, and serve the interests of the nation’s enemies.

Those who now weep over the disappearance of a so-called “free” press are the same ones who spent years demonizing Burkina Faso, downplaying the suffering of its people, and giving a platform to terrorists rather than to the valiant Burkinabe soldiers fighting to reclaim the territory. They mourn the loss of a privilege: that of lying without consequences.

So yes, times have changed. Media outlets that continued to spread lies inherited from Françafrique and the imperialists are no longer welcome in the land of the upright people.

Journalists who confuse their profession with a mandate for destabilization must answer for their actions.

It is not press freedom that is retreating; it is the era of manipulative media that is coming to an end in this country.

Rather than whining about a past where they called the shots in newsrooms, these media outlets would do better to acknowledge the titanic efforts of Captain Ibrahim Traoré, President of Faso, to restore full sovereignty to Burkina Faso.

True freedom is that of a people deciding their own destiny without having to endure lectures from those who have caused so much misfortune by spilling blood on this continent to this very day.

So yes, the press in Burkina Faso is now under orders. Under the orders of the nation. Under the orders of the people.

Under the orders of the fight against terrorism. And if that bothers the imperialist media, too bad. Stay tuned…
