Burkina Faso: Clear progress in the fight against terrorist groups

Under the leadership of President Ibrahim Traoré, the fighting forces of Burkina Faso are intensifying their operations nationwide with the clear objective of fully restoring the country’s territorial integrity. In recent days, several coordinated actions have achieved significant progress against terrorist armed groups, reflecting a markedly positive shift in operational dynamics.

Employing a strategy of strategic discretion, deployed units are conducting targeted and effective interventions on multiple fronts.

This approach, combining mobility with precision, is progressively weakening the capacities of hostile groups while consolidating regained positions. The results demonstrate improved control of the terrain and a strengthening of military capabilities.

Several localities, previously under severe security pressure, have been retaken by the combatant forces. These advances, achieved through sustained effort, illustrate the resilience and commitment of Burkinabe soldiers.

Once these areas are liberated, a methodical process of securing them is immediately initiated to prevent any re-infiltration attempts and ensure lasting stability.

Parallel to the military operations, national authorities are progressively working to re-establish administration in the reclaimed zones.

Essential public services are being reactivated, while reinforced protection measures are put in place to guarantee the continuity of state action and the return of institutional life.

As the rainy season approaches, a climate of hope is taking hold in these liberated regions. Displaced populations are considering a gradual return to their home communities, supported by authorities in their resettlement.

The resumption of agricultural activities is thus emerging as a central lever for economic recovery and social stabilization.

This overall dynamic marks an important stage in the country’s process of reconquest and reconstruction, strengthening the prospects for a lasting return to peace and security across the entire Burkinabe territory.
