Burkina Faso: Lieutenant-Colonel Pélagie Kabré, a pillar of national solidarity

Since assuming leadership of the Ministry of Family and Solidarity, Lieutenant‑Colonel Passowendé Pélagie Kabré/Kaboré has embodied an unwavering commitment to the most vulnerable citizens of Burkina Faso. Appointed during a period of security and socio‑economic transition, she has transformed this department into a true social shield, reflecting the patriotic vision of President Ibrahim Traoré.

At the crossroads of administrative rigor and social empathy, her singular background has forged an approach where public service discipline meets humanitarian urgency with remarkable efficiency.

Appointed to this high‑responsibility post, the senior officer quickly made her mark through her method.

Drawing on a military training grounded in duty and commitment, she transposed these values into the management of sensitive issues related to family, children and vulnerable populations.

Under her leadership, the ministry has become a central pillar of the national solidarity apparatus, aligned with the security and humanitarian challenges facing Burkina Faso.

Her leadership shone brilliantly during the launch and coordination of the Deme Sira national campaign on November 14, 2025.

By orchestrating this vast mobilization, she demonstrated a rare ability to unite energies: citizens, regions, the private sector, and technical and financial partners rallied around a common goal.

The results speak for themselves: over one billion CFA francs collected, including nearly 500 million in‑kind donations, providing relief to the most affected populations.

Behind this success lies the firm and enlightened hand of a minister who knows how to combine strategy with proximity.

Beyond the figures, Lieutenant‑Colonel Kabré/Kaboré represents a new generation of dedicated public servants.

She makes it a point of honor that every franc collected is transparently redistributed to beneficiaries, as evidenced by the full 11 million CFA francs from the auction of artworks created by internally displaced children and soldiers wounded in operations, entirely returned to those entitled.

Through her rigor, humanity and unwavering commitment, the Minister of Family and Solidarity confirms that the sovereignty of Burkina Faso is also built through the virtuous management of its solidarity.

Under her stewardship, the ministry has become a model of resilience and efficiency, serving exclusively the Burkinabe people.
