Togo: Tech Santé Challenge recognises young people’s innovation in digital health

Togo accelerates the modernization of its public services, with a priority focus on health. The national competition “Challenge Tech Santé,” launched in November 2025, mobilized innovative youth to revolutionize the healthcare system. Its final phase, held last week, brought together the best projects, marking a turning point in the country’s digital transformation.

The grand winner, Silina MRS by Silina Tech, takes home the excellence award and its 15 million FCFA prize.

This integrated platform manages medical records, patient monitoring, pharmacy, and billing all functioning offline, even without a stable connection. A pragmatic solution tailored to Togolese realities.

The second prize (applied research) goes to Nova Health, with its patient referral platform.

Togohealth Innovators wins the best pitch award for its mobile intelligent medical assistant. The public’s choice award honors Excelsis, recognizing its accessible approach.

“Artificial intelligence may seem complex, but you are showing that technology goes hand in hand with lives saved,” said the Minister of Digital Economy, Cina Lawson.

She praised this generation for turning innovation into public service. Beyond the prizes, the winners gain one year of support to scale their prototypes and integrate them into public policies.

This incubation transforms ideas into operational tools, deployed in health centers and hospitals.

This initiative is part of the comprehensive digital health vision of Togo. Aristide Gnassingbé, national coordinator, emphasizes that AI must optimize care, prevention, and health promotion.

Tools like Silina MRS will strengthen chronic disease monitoring, stock management, and rural telemedicine.

Togo exemplifies an innovative Africa. By investing in its youth, it is building a resilient, equitable health system. Challenge Tech Santé is more than a competition: it is the foundation of a Health 2.0, where technology and sovereignty intertwine for the common good.
