Togo – Kyrgyzstan: Faure Gnassingbé in Bishkek to strengthen cooperation and explore new opportunities

The President of the Council, Faure Gnassingbé, continues his policy of openness and diversification of international partnerships with a working visit to Kyrgyzstan. Arriving in Bishkek on April 28, 2026, at the invitation of his Kyrgyz counterpart, Sadyr Japarov, he marked the beginning of a series of meetings aimed at strengthening bilateral relations.

This visit is part of a dynamic of economic and social development for both nations, particularly in sectors with high potential.

Upon his arrival, President Faure Gnassingbé was warmly welcomed by President Japarov during a dinner at the Ala Archa State Natural Park.

The two leaders then explored the ethnographic exhibition showcasing the cultural richness of Kyrgyzstan, in a setting conducive to exchange and diplomacy.

This moment helped lay the foundations for lasting collaboration, combining respect for traditions with modern prospects for cooperation.

The discussions that will follow will focus on investment opportunities and joint projects, particularly in the economic and social sectors.

The two presidents and their respective delegations will concentrate on concrete initiatives that could lead to agreements and memoranda of understanding, thereby strengthening the ties of friendship and cooperation between Togo and Kyrgyzstan.

By visiting economic and cultural sites during his stay, Faure Gnassingbé also seeks to draw inspiration from effective development models while sharing the experiences of Togo.

This trip once again reflects the desire of the Togolese President to explore new avenues of strategic partnership in a win-win framework for the benefit of the development of  both countries.
