Togo /Biashara Afrika Forum: Lomé hosts the third edition under the chairmanship of H.E. Faure Gnassingbé
The Lomé Congress Center is set to pulse with the rhythm of the economic ambitions of the continent. On 18 May 2026, the Togolese capital hosts the opening ceremony of the 3rd edition of the Biashara Afrika Forum an unmissable event for key players in the economic development of Africa. Proceedings begin at 9:00 a.m. in a setting that itself symbolises Togo’s commitment to positioning itself as a hub for dialogue and exchange on a continental scale.
The President of the Council, Faure Essozimna Gnassingbé, will personally preside over this inaugural ceremony.
His presence at the helm of the event underscores the strategic importance that Togolese authorities attach to the forum.
By getting directly involved, the Head of Government sends a clear signal: Togo intends to play a leading role in shaping intra-African economic exchanges.
The Biashara Afrika Forum whose very name evokes “trade” in Swahili is designed as a space for meetings, reflection and business opportunities between public and private sector players from across the continent.
Lomé, the host city of this event, was not chosen by chance. A natural crossroads between francophone and anglophone West Africa, boasting a deep-water port and a tradition of commercial openness, the Togolese capital offers an ideal setting for discussions on African economic integration.
Its geographic position and dynamism make it a relevant showcase for the region’s potential.
This 3rd edition of the Biashara Afrika Forum takes place against a continental backdrop marked by the rise of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).
