Burkina Faso: A tribute to the Armed Forces and the VDP, the nation’s bulwark against the forces of evil

In a context marked by multiple security challenges, Burkina Faso can count on the unwavering commitment of its Defense and Security Forces (FDS) and its Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP).

Every day, these men and women stand with courage and determination to protect the territorial integrity of our country, preserve peace, and guarantee the safety of the population.

On the front lines, in the most exposed areas, the FDS and VDP carry out their mission with a high sense of duty and sacrifice.

Often faced with difficult conditions, far from their families and loved ones, they demonstrate exemplary resilience against the threats weighing on the Nation.

Their commitment testifies to a sincere patriotism and a deep attachment to the values of sovereignty, freedom, and dignity of the Burkinabe people.

Their daily struggle goes beyond simple territorial defense. It also embodies the will to preserve hope, protect communities, and allow populations to continue their activities in a climate of security.

Thanks to their vigilance and bravery, many localities continue to resist attempts at destabilization and maintain course toward a better future.

This commitment unfortunately comes at a considerable human cost. Several of our valiant soldiers and volunteers have paid with their lives for their devotion to the homeland.

Others bear the physical or psychological scars of this fight. To all these heroes, fallen or wounded in the line of duty, the Nation expresses its profound gratitude and eternal respect. Their sacrifice will never be forgotten.

Today more than ever, it is our collective duty to provide moral and civic support to those who watch over our security. National unity, solidarity, and trust are essential forces to accompany the efforts of the FDS and VDP in their noble mission.

In paying tribute to these sentinels of the Republic, we salute their courage, professionalism, and dedication. Burkina Faso owes them immense gratitude. May their commitment continue to inspire every citizen, and may the memory of the heroes who fell defending the homeland remain forever engraved in the national consciousness.
