Sinner Stuns Djokovic, secures first grand Slam Final in Australian Open Semis

It’s a historic moment for Jannik Sinner, marked by a remarkable feat in eliminating Novak Djokovic in the semi-finals of the Australian Open. This victory ends the Serbian’s reign, a four-time defending champion in Melbourne, who had just completed an impressive streak of 33 consecutive victories.

Sinner, commanding the court, secures his spot in his very first Grand Slam final, creating a significant upset at the Rod Laver Arena, the stage for Djokovic’s past triumphs.

In the semi-final of the Australian Open against Jannik Sinner, Djokovic suffers a resounding defeat (6-1, 6-2, 6-7, 6-3).

Unusually, the Serbian fails to create any break opportunities, a first in his career.

The last time the world number one didn’t qualify for the final in Melbourne was in 2018 when he was eliminated in the round of 16 by South Korean Chung Hyeon with a scoreline of 6-7, 5-7, 6-7.

With this prestigious victory, Jannik Sinner earns his ticket to his first Grand Slam final.

He will face the winner of the other semi-final between Daniil Medvedev and Alexander Zverev.

Sinner appears to be asserting himself as Djokovic’s Achilles’ heel, having now defeated him three times in their last four encounters.
