Beyoncé shatters Country Music records: First Black Woman to rule Billboard charts

Beyoncé has once again made waves in the music industry, breaking barriers as the first Black woman to claim the coveted number one spot on the Billboard country music chart.

Her latest triumph comes courtesy of the soaring success of “Texas Hold ‘Em,” her newly released single that surged to the summit of the country streaming chart this week.

Unveiled on February 11, strategically timed with the Super Bowl, the track shared the spotlight with another single, “16 Carriages,” which impressively made its debut at the 9th position on the same chart.

Set to be featured on Beyoncé’s forthcoming country-themed album, “Act II,” slated for release on March 29, these tracks follow the trailblazing artist’s 2022 album “Renaissance,” affectionately referred to as “Act I: Renaissance.”

The announcement of the upcoming album arrived on the heels of a captivating Verizon commercial during this month’s Super Bowl, where Beyoncé took center stage.

In an extraordinary accomplishment, Beyoncé has secured her place in history as the first woman to concurrently top both the Hot Country Songs and Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs charts since their inception in 1958, according to Billboard.

Joining an exclusive league, the only other artists to achieve this dual feat include Justin Bieber, Billy Ray Cyrus, and Ray Charles.
