Barbra Banda’s historic transfer to Orlando Pride marks women’s football milestone

Orlando Pride, the American club, officially confirmed the transfer of Zambian international Barbra Banda from the Chinese club Shanghai Shengli this Friday.

This move now stands as the second most expensive transfer in the history of women’s football, carrying a transfer fee of approximately 677,000 euros.

Banda’s forward prowess propels her closely behind her compatriot Rachael Kundananji in the ranking of the most expensive transfers.

Kundananji, who joined Bay FC last month, holds the top spot with a transfer fee of 805,000 euros, including bonuses.

This highlights the impressive performance of Zambian women’s football on the international stage.

The significant investment in these transfers underscores the growing recognition and value of women’s football talents, showcasing the strength and competitiveness of the Zambian women’s game on the global platform.
