Injury woes hit Ivory Coast: Faé forced to replace Fofana, Sangaré, and Ndicka for upcoming matches

Emerse Faé, the coach of Ivory Coast’s national football team, faces a setback as he prepares for their upcoming matches without key players Séko Fofana, Ibrahima Sangaré, and Evan Ndicka. The trio has been ruled out due to medical reasons, as confirmed by the Ivorian Football Federation (FIF) in a statement released on Monday, March 18.

The FIF’s announcement detailed that Fofana, Sangaré, and Ndicka will miss the friendly matches against Benin on March 23, 2024, in Amiens, France, and Uruguay on March 26, 2024, in Lens, France. This news comes as a blow to Faé’s plans, requiring quick adjustments to his squad.

To fill the void left by these absences, the FIF has called up replacements: Kader Keita from CFR Cluj in Romania, Zouzoua Pacôme from Young Africans SC in Tanzania, and Emmanuel Agbadou from Reims in France.

These new additions will be expected to step up and contribute to the team’s performance in the upcoming fixtures.

The absence of Fofana, Sangaré, and Ndicka adds an element of challenge for Faé and the national team, but it also presents an opportunity for the incoming players to showcase their skills and make an impact on the field.

As the matches draw near, all eyes will be on how Ivory Coast navigates these changes and continues their football journey.
