Congo Brazzaville: Denis Sassou N’Guesso in Russia to strengthen bilateral relations

The President of the Republic of Congo, Denis Sassou N’Guesso, is on a state visit to Russia at the invitation of his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin.

 

This visit is particularly significant as it commemorates the 60th anniversary of the diplomatic ties between the two countries.

 

The discussions between the two leaders will cover various strategic areas, including economic cooperation, security, and cultural exchanges.

 

The visit aims to strengthen bilateral relations and explore new avenues for collaboration in different sectors.

 

President Sassou N’Guesso’s visit follows closely on the heels of Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov’s visit to Congo on June 3 and 4.

 

During his visit, Lavrov was received by the Congolese head of state in Oyo, underscoring the importance of the relationship between the two nations and setting the stage for the current meeting in Moscow.

 

The celebration of the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Congo and the Russian Federation is a pivotal moment for both nations.

 

Since establishing their relationship, the two countries have maintained close ties, characterized by mutually beneficial cooperation in various fields such as education, defense, and energy.
