Burkina Faso/Counter-terrorism: A group of terrorists stripped and neutralised by fighting forces

In a continued effort to reclaim national territory and secure the country from terrorist threats, Burkinabe security forces have intensified their operations across the country.

Recent actions in the Boucle du Mouhoun region have led to the neutralization of several terrorists and the seizure of a significant cache of materials, according to official reports.

In a coordinated operation, the police and the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP) worked together to dismantle terrorist activities in the region.

The operation, led by a Grouping of Mobile Intervention Units (GUMI) of the police alongside VDP units, resulted in the recovery of a substantial amount of equipment.

Among the items seized were motorcycles, military-grade weapons, uniforms, pharmaceuticals, food supplies, mobile phones, and protective gear.

The cache also included detonator rolls, PKMS ammunition belts, credit cards, sleeping gear, and mechanical equipment.

This haul of materials highlights the extensive support network that terrorists receive, possibly from accomplices within Burkinabè cities or from external sources.

The presence of military uniforms among the seized items suggests that these criminal elements may be using such gear to tarnish the reputation of the country’s security forces by committing atrocities under the guise of legitimate military actions.

As the fight against terrorism continues, the Burkinabè government calls for increased vigilance and support for the brave citizens who risk their lives daily to restore peace and stability to the nation.

Their efforts are crucial in ensuring that the population can live without fear , and that the country can move towards a more secure future.
