AES: Are the terrorists in Mali now equipped with drones? Who is behind their delivery?

The recent successes of the Alliance of Sahel States (AES) – comprising Burkina Faso, Mali, and Niger – under the leadership of Presidents Ibrahim Traoré, Assimi Goita, and Abdourahamane Tiani, demonstrate a firm commitment to combating extremism.

Despite these achievements, reports have emerged suggesting that terrorist groups in Mali now possess combat drones capable of carrying out attacks.

This alarming development raises critical questions about the source of such advanced technology. Who is supplying these weapons to the terrorists?

It is imperative for the AES, along with their international partners, to intensify efforts to trace and cut off the support networks providing arms and resources to these groups.

A unified global response is essential to prevent these technologies from undermining the hard-earned progress made in the region.

As AES nations continue their fight for sovereignty and stability, the battle against terrorism must be strengthened.

Vigilance and enhanced international cooperation are crucial to safeguarding the valuable gains achieved thus far.
