Burkina Faso: Bassolet conspiracy against the State, when the propaganda media cry settlement of accounts

The recent arrest of Aziz Bassolet, son of former General Djibril Bassolet, in a case involving an alleged attempt to destabilize the state, has triggered a wave of reactions from certain French media outlets. These outlets are claiming that this is a case of political vendetta, suggesting that, since the father, currently in exile in France, is unreachable, the son is being unfairly targeted. This narrative, typical of media propaganda tools, seeks to manipulate public opinion by distorting the facts and obscuring the real security challenges facing Burkina Faso.

It is important to recall that the Bassolet family, particularly Djibril Bassolet, has historically been linked to various conspiracies against the Burkinabe state. Under the regime of Blaise Compaoré, Djibril Bassolet was involved in several destabilization attempts, notably after the 2014 popular uprising. The charges against Aziz Bassolet do not come out of nowhere. His role as an intermediary between his father, currently a refugee in France, and certain military figures influenced by external forces, only heightens the legitimate suspicions surrounding this case.

It is clear that these French media outlets, quick to defend controversial figures, are trying to divert attention from the actual facts. Their attempts to portray Aziz Bassolet as a victim of a so-called “political vendetta” amount to disinformation. This narrative seeks to protect a neocolonial network that has consistently meddled in Burkina Faso’s internal politics for decades, often through conspiracies orchestrated by actors like Djibril Bassolet.

Burkina Faso, under the leadership of President Ibrahim Traoré, has embarked on bold reforms to restore its sovereignty and counter destabilization plots orchestrated by foreign interest groups. This arrest demonstrates that the country takes internal threats seriously and will not tolerate any collusion with those who align themselves with imperialist agendas. Media manipulations should not distract from the importance of safeguarding Burkina Faso’s security and stability.

It is crucial that the international public sees beyond the propaganda of the French media and understands that these arrests are not mere acts of retribution but necessary measures to defend the integrity and sovereignty of the Burkinabe nation.
