Deadly attack on Turkish Aerospace company leaves Five dead, PKK suspected

A deadly attack on Turkey’s state-run aerospace company near Ankara on Wednesday left five people dead and 22 injured, according to government officials.

The Turkish Interior Minister, Ali Yerlikaya, confirmed that two attackers, a man and a woman, were killed during the assault on Turkish Aerospace Industries (TUSAS) headquarters. Among the victims were four employees and a taxi driver.

Security footage and eyewitness reports indicated that the attackers, carrying guns and backpacks, detonated explosives at the facility.

While no group has claimed responsibility, Turkish authorities pointed to the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK), a group classified as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the European Union, and the United States.

Defense Minister Yasar Guler hinted that the PKK may be behind the attack, describing the group’s history of violence.

Following the attack, Turkish forces launched airstrikes on PKK targets in northern Iraq and Syria, reportedly destroying 32 locations.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan condemned the incident as a “vile attack,” emphasizing its impact on the country’s defense sector and security.
