Tour du Faso 2024: 58 cyclists in pursuit of the Tour du Faso yellow jersey

The 35th edition of the Tour du Faso has officially begun. This Friday, October 25, 2024, the competition kicked off with the Koulbila-Tenkodogo stage, spanning 136 km, and was inaugurated by Roland Somda, Minister of Sports, Youth, and Employment.

 

A total of 58 cyclists are racing for the coveted yellow jersey in this highly anticipated event on the continent.

 

Competing teams include those from Benin, Ghana, Belgium (Team Flanders), the Netherlands (Universe Cycling Team), Cameroon, Mali, Morocco, and three Burkinabe teams, with two representing regional selections.

 

The Burkina Faso national team is led by coach Jérémie Ouédraogo, while the West and Central regional teams are coached by Saidou Tall and Sylvain Tondé, respectively.

 

Three sprint points mark this initial stage, with the first at Mogtedo (km 36), the second in Zorgho (59.5 km), and the last at Koumlela (90.5 km).
