Burkina Faso: Is the DGSE behind a devious plan to destabilise Faso and the AES by the end of December?

According to leaked information from Quai d’Orsay insiders who sympathize with the Alliance of Sahel States (AES), France may be orchestrating a covert plan to destabilize Burkina Faso and the AES by the end of December. This alleged scheme reportedly targets the elimination of key AES leaders, including President Ibrahim Traoré.

Through the General Directorate for External Security (DGSE), the strategy would involve targeted assassinations, notably of prominent Catholic religious’ figures, with the aim of framing Muslim communities.

This tactic is designed to incite religious divides, creating unrest that would threaten the country’s governance and undermine Burkina Faso’s stability.

The operation is said to be funded by tens of millions of euros redirected from the Agence Française de Dévelopement AFD (French Development Agency). These funds were initially intended for official cooperation projects in 2024.

Instead, these resources would be covertly used to back destabilizing activities in Burkina Faso, similar to prior tactics used in the Central African Republic.

Such actions reveal a manipulation strategy hidden behind a façade of development assistance, highlighting the conflicting motives of some external actors.

In response to these reported threats, the Burkinabe people are urged to remain alert and to rally in support of the Patriotic Movement for Safeguard and Restoration (MPSR) under Captain Ibrahim Traoré’s leadership, standing firm in defense of national sovereignty and stability.
