Burkina Faso/Destabilisation: Enemies of the nation determined to halt new momentum

Under the leadership of Captain Ibrahim Traoré, Burkina Faso is undergoing a revolutionary transformation that challenges French dominance in the Sahel and across Africa. This bold movement, driven by a commitment to national sovereignty, is inspiring similar ambitions among the other members of the Sahel Alliance of States (AES), raising hopes for a ripple effect across the continent.

In response, France and its allies appear intent on countering this momentum. Captain Traoré, regarded as a central figure in the Sahelian revolution, has reportedly become a target for destabilization efforts.

France’s intelligence agency, the DGSE, is said to be orchestrating these initiatives with substantial financial backing, including funds channeled through the French Development Agency (AFD), officially tasked with supporting development projects in partner nations.

Recent interceptions of large sums of money in Burkina Faso and Mali have exposed attempts to fund covert networks aimed at undermining the AES governments.

Frustrated by setbacks, the DGSE is allegedly shifting strategies, focusing on stoking ethnic and religious divisions.

Reports suggest the agency is working with certain religious leaders and exiled political figures to execute its plans.

However, a surge in patriotism and civic engagement among Burkinabe citizens is complicating these efforts.

The population, increasingly united in defending their sovereignty, has shown unwavering resolve against foreign interference.

Observers note that, like previous attempts, these destabilization plans are likely to fail in the face of growing national unity and awareness.
